Correlation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Arthroscopy Findings in Cruciate Ligaments and Meniscus Injury of Knee in West Nepal

Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging is a noninvasive diagnostic modality and provides clinically relevant information to orthopaedic surgeons by detecting characterizing injuries of cruciate ligaments meniscus the knee. MRI routinely used before arthroscopic examination surgery. Arthroscopy considered reference standard for diagnosis knee hence efficacy needs be compared with findings. Methods: This was retrospective observational study at Bheri hospital, Nepalgunj. A total 114 Patients who were investigated managed procedures injury, between June 2017 February 2022, included in study.Data analysis done determining true positive, negative, false positive negative as per findings.Sensitivity, specificity, predictive value calculated based on specific equations. Results: The sensitivity, value, accuracy ACL 89.65%, 96.42%, 96.29%, 90% & 92.98%, PCL 100%, 97.72% 99.12%, medial 88.46%, 88.70%, 86.79%, 90.10% 88.59% lateral 84.61%, 94.31%, 81.48%, 95.40% 92.10% respectively. Conclusions: an excellent it yields high diagnosing meniscus.
